What is Salvation?

The history of the Jews in the Old Testament is there to show us that there is a God of salvation, and that salvation was promised to all through a saviour, who turned out to be Jesus. The good news that Jesus bought was that if we can follow Him, we will make it to heaven. Our life on Earth is the one chance we have to make our salvation sure.

Why is it so important to have a vision?

Where there is no vision, the people perish. We need to be able to see our nearest and dearest being baptised. We need a vision for us of being carried up into the clouds when Jesus finally comes back. We need a vision for the church: speaking to the lost, teaching them and discipling them. Everything we do, our very purpose, comes from the vision God gives us. The Bible says that we are created for God's pleasure, so let's start there... 

Why are many called, but few chosen?

Many fall short of the calling that God has for their lives because they fail to take guidance from His word, and rely on teaching from man or are bound by the tradition of man. God calls us out of the ways of the world, to resist the things that tempt us to go against God, to put faith before flesh. But how can we do this if we do not have the Holy Spirit? And how can we receive the Holy Spirit if we know nothing about Him?

Mankind has taken what God created as perfect and made an awful mess that we now live in, so most people decide to live in a little bubble trying to keep everything out. The Importance of the Holy Spirit

We can't get to heaven without the Holy Spirit (see John 3:5), and the four times in the Bible where people are documented having received the baptism of the Holy Spirit they all supernaturally spoke in different tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. We today are no different, God's word stands forever and never changes, so every Christian is to repent, be baptised in water in the name of Jesus and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. How Is Your Faith?

In a world that is moving further away from God it can be difficult to have faith. Even the great men of God in the Bible struggled; Elijah almost gave up were it not for the fact that he was still and listened for God. Why do we bother to read the Bible? When we do read it, how can we get more from the time we put in? One thing we know is that if God's word doesn't go in, it can't come out.
